Coupler Installation & Removal

 

1.                  Loosen all bolts and set screws in the coupling. 

2.                  Verify the keyseats and shaft sizes are correct for your application. 

3.                  Remove one  bolt and thread it into the tapped hole located near the middle of the coupling. 
(This hole is called the detachment hole and is located between the two locking sleeve bolts.)
 

4.                  Run the bolt in until it stops against the opposite side of the split, then use a hex key wrench of the appropriate size and turn to open coupler only enough to slide onto shaft. 
(Note: opening too much the potential of splitting (cracking) the coupling increases.)____________

5.                  Install both shafts. 

a)      Verify position on the shafts. 
b) Verify keystock material is in place.
 

6.                  Remove the bolt from the detachment hole and reinstall in a locking sleeve hole.

7.                  Tighten both bolts. 

8.                   Tighten both set screws.  

 

Disassembling Coupler

 

1.                  Loosen all bolts and set screws in the coupling. 

2.                  Take one bolt out and thread it into the tapped hole located near the middle of the coupling. 
(This hole is called the detachment hole and is located between the two locking sleeve bolts.)
 

3.                  Run the bolt in until it stops against the opposite side of the split, then use a hex key wrench of the appropriate size and turn to open the coupling enough to remove from the shaft. 
(Note: opening too much the potential of splitting (cracking) the coupling increases.)
 

4.                  Remove coupling.
